| #2184Rubank |
Rubank Intermediate Method for Flute or
Piccolo by J. E. Skornicka and A. C. Petersen.
Rubank Educational Library No. 75. Copyright 1939. This
48-page soft cover book is 11-3/4" tall x 8-7/8" tall. This
is a follow up course for individual or like-instrument class
instruction. It starts with a review lesson with fundamental
rhythms that expects the player to sight read, followed by studies in
expression, practice tunes, and development in techniques such as
staccato, waltzes, and syncopation, going on to rhythms. majors,
minors, grace notes, double and triple tongueing and trills, including
a trill chart, has a lot of practice tunes, and ends with a couple of
duets. There are several marks (I found two X's and two dates
and a circle) written in book. The name of the store (Berea
Music Center Records, 23 Front Street) who sold it is stamped on the
front and back covers of the book. Yellow vertical line in photo is
result of scanning process, but not on the book. This book
looks dated, has very little edge wear, slightly curls at the corners
but considering it was copyrighted in 1939, is in remarkably good
condition considering its age and appears to have great
content. Limit One. |
