comb binding and is 11" tall x 8-1/2" wide.
Included is Notation written with the Indian (Sargam) notation system
and the Western (Staff) notations, Shruti-Intonation Language of our
soul, Raga Chalan Progression and Expansion, and Ragas, which are
listed alphabetically so they can be found quickly. Yellow
vertical line on left of photo is result of scanning process,

This is
the
first publication published by
Pankaj Publications, New Delhi. This 72-page paperback book is 9-1/4"
tall and and 6-3/4" wide. This is a unique collection of
theory
of two-hundred Ragas presented in a brief and systematic way.
Contents include Thatas as follow: Bilawal, Khamaj, Kafee, Asawari,
Bhairavi, Bhairava, Kaliyan, Marva, Pooravi, and Todi. There are no
markings inside the book. The first two inside pages have a
small
tear on the right side about one-third of the way down from the
top. The cover as shown in the photo has a crease from the
top
left to center right. A piece has been torn from the top left
of
the book cover. Condition is Fair. Limit

explanatory text by George Ruckert. Copyright 1991. The pages
of this 367-page soft cover comb bound book measure 11" tall x 8-1/2"
wide. Both the front and back pages have a clear heavy
plastic page protecting them. It is illustrated with eighteen
photographs and many charts and tables. Contents include 80
compositions (150 pages of music), 10 ragas from the basic scales, full
explanation of notation, description of talas with drum patterns, vocal
and instrumental music, complete list of exercises, complete
explanation of raga theory, history of music of India, explanation of
musical forms, introduction to Indian languages, description of
cultural patterns, and full glossary and index. Top and
bottom fingers of the comb binding are partially broken off. There is a
scratch on the plastic front cover. Yellow vertical line on
left of photo is result of scanning process, but not on the
book. There are no markings in the book. Condition is Good.

Length:
22 Minutes. Writing on the back of the case states "The music
of India coordinates string, wind and percussion instruments to evoke a
provocative and sensuous style. Integrated with movement and
dance, the music of India addresses a primal level of
communication." There is a small three-point slit through the
outer plastic and paper of the spine of the case, but there is no
damage to the tape or the major part of the case. Condition of VHS tape
